Police advise shopkeepers to check stock after stolen goods found

Police in Kingsbridge have asked local shopkeepers to check their stock after hundreds of pounds of stolen clothing and goods were found in a car

Posting on Social media on Wednesday (10 June) Kingsbridge Police said: “At about 1630hrs this afternoon Police saw a vehicle leaving Kingsbridge which looked suspicious. The vehicle was stopped and the occupants spoken to.

“In the boot were hundreds of pounds of clothing and other goods which were stolen from shops in Salcombe and Kingsbridge. Both persons were arrested and are currently in custody at Torquay Police Station.

“Could all shopkeepers please check their stock / CCTV to see if any items may be missing as we still need to find where some of it has been taken from,”
