Police seek 4x4 driver after collision serious injures elderly woman

Police are seeking a driver of a dark coloured 4×4 after an elderly woman was left seriously injured following a collision in Bovey Tracey yesterday.

The collision happened in Fore Street near to the junction of Abbey Road, close to Lloyds Pharmacy  around 10.30am yesterday.

The male driver assisted the victim, 71,  taking her in his vehicle, telling witnesses that he would take her home.

The woman was subsequently taken to the local health centre and the driver then left.  It was then discovered that the woman had sustained serious leg injuries and she was transferred to Torbay Hospital where she remains.

Police are now trying to locate the driver and are appealing for both witnesses and the motorist himself to come forward.
