Due to the large blaze at the site of Shedden Hall Hotel there are a number of road closures in place. These currently include:

Shedden Hill – closed completely – traffic can either turn left up Belgrave Road or along the seafront towards the Harbour.
Warren Road – closed at the junction of Warren Hill
St. Lukes Road – closed at the junction with Abbey Road
Croft Road – closed from the junction with Croft Hill
Abbey Road – no left turn into Abbey Road from Tor Hill Road, traffic being diverted towards town.

Torbay council said on Facebook:”These roads are likely to be closed for some time so please bear this in mind when travelling around the seafront and town centre area of Torquay.

“Our Emergency Planning Officers, Building Control and Higways are all on site and as soon as we have any further information we will share here.”

Emergency services were called to the incident at the disused hotel just before 7am this morning, fire crews from around South Devon are at the scene.
