Police appeal for witnesses following fatal M5 crash

update: One lane has reopened but the road will be closed later for recovery to take place

The A38 Northbound is currently closed due to overturned fuel tanker between Dartbridge Junction and Peartree Junction.

The road closed around 07:30 and may be closed for several hours.

Early reports suggest that the tanker has crashed through the barrier and gone down the embankment.

The fire service attended the incident, making sure no one was trapped and making the area safe.

We will continue to update as information becomes available.
