The pedestrian, a local woman in her 60s, was sadly confirmed deceased at the scene. Her family has been informed and is being supported by officers.

Brewery Lane was closed for a period of time while police carried out a detailed investigation. Officers have thanked members of the public for their patience and cooperation during the road closure.

The Roads Policing Team is continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision and is asking anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have dash-cam footage from the area at the time, to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police via the force website or by calling 101, quoting log number 472 of 21/01/26 or occurrence number 50260017218.
