Officers are appealing for information following a fatal collision in Brixham in which a pedestrian died.
Emergency services were called at around 12.10pm on Saturday 4 October after a collision involving a grey Volvo XC90 and a 79-year-old woman outside Sainsbury’s Local on New Road.
Sadly, the woman, who was from Brixham, sustained serious injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A man in his 40s, also from Brixham, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
The road was closed until 6.35pm to allow officers to carry out investigative work and recover the vehicle.
Roads policing officers are conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision and are appealing for anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.
