BayCAT, a vibrant community art group based in Torbay, is set to bring the energy of community creativity to Paignton this autumn. From 24–29 October, the group will host its second exhibition at the Projection Room, featuring a diverse range of artworks, greetings cards, and postcards—many available for purchase.
Following the success of their debut exhibition in June, which attracted glowing public feedback for its “wonderful mix of different creatives” and “talented local artists,” BayCAT members are excited to return with a new theme: “Moving Pictures.” This exhibition pays tribute to the ongoing restoration of the historic Paignton Picture House, a Grade II* listed building set to reopen in 2026 as a cultural and community hub.
BayCAT welcomes artists of all disciplines and experience levels—from beginners to professionals—as well as writers. Members meet regularly to share ideas, exchange inspiration, and develop their projects.
Frances Mason, a founding member, said:
“It was great to come together with fellow local artists. From watercolour and fabric design to photography and tetra pak carving, our inaugural show was a true celebration of creativity.”
