Body found in Dorset believed to be Rose Polge

A body found in Dorset earlier this month is believed to be missing Rose Polge.

A woman’s body was found in Dorset 1st April. The woman has not been formally identified.

Rose, 25, a junior doctor from Torquay has been missing since 12th February.

Rose’s car was found in Ansteys car park and despite an extensive search of the area by coastguard, RNLI, police and search and rescue teams, she was not located.

A statement by Devon and Cornwall Police released today said:

“On Friday the 1st April, a female body was recovered from the sea east of Portland Headland, Dorset. Police are currently working on the belief that the body is that of 25-year old missing person Rose Polge, from Torquay.

“Devon and Cornwall Police are working with Dorset Police and the Coroner’s Office on this matter, and await the results of the formal identification.

“The family of Ms Polge are aware of this latest development,”
