Brixham Town Council by-election set for January

Residents in parts of Brixham are being reminded of an upcoming by-election to fill a vacancy on Brixham Town Council.

The by-election will take place on Thursday 29 January 2026, with polling stations open from 7.00am until 10.00pm. The election is being held to fill a vacant seat representing the Furzeham with Summercombe ward.

Only electors who are registered to vote in the Furzeham with Summercombe ward will be eligible to take part in the poll.

Important information for voters

Unlike some elections, polling cards will not be issued for this by-election. Eligible voters can still cast their vote in person at their designated polling station, or vote by post or proxy if they have already applied to do so.

The deadline to register to vote is midnight on Tuesday 13 January 2026. Registration can be completed online at
www.gov.uk/register-to-vote

Official election notices, including the Notice of Election, Statement of Persons Nominated, and Notice of Poll, will be published on the Brixham Town Council website and can be viewed at:
https://www.brixhamtowncouncil.gov.uk/elections/

Anyone who is unsure whether they are registered to vote, or who needs further information about the by-election, is advised to contact Torbay Council Electoral Services directly.
