Burts Ridges 150g sharing packs secure new Tesco listing in South West

Award-winning snack maker, Burts, is set to elevate shelves this November, as two of its popular Ridges 150g sharing packs, Beef and Mustard and Mature Cheddar and Caramelised Onion Chutney, will become available in South West Tesco stores. This new listing expands Burts’ presence in the region and brings two bold and bestselling flavours to even more shoppers through a key retailer.

The launch strengthens on Burts’ existing hand-cooked crisp range currently available in Tesco South West, which includes Lightly Sea Salted, Sea Salt & Malt Vinegar, Mature Cheddar & Onion, Devon Roast Beef and Herb Roasted Chicken.

Both Ridges flavours are favourites within the Burts portfolio, crafted with high-quality, locally sourced ingredients and celebrated for their bold flavour profiles and distinctive ridge-cut texture. Consumer demand for satisfying, full-bodied snacks continue to rise, with 57% of UK consumers saying rich, savoury flavours make snacks feel more indulgent[1]. Meanwhile, cheese remains one of the most popular crisp flavours in the UK[2] and meaty profiles also maintain strong appeal in the snack category – with over a third of snackers seeking out hearty, umami-driven tastes that deliver on flavour[3]. Bringing these trends to life are two flavour-packed options that don’t hold back:

·       Beef & Mustard Ridges: A full-bodied, meaty crisp with a mustard kick, made using real beef from Eversfield Organic Farm in Okehampton, Devon.

·       Mature Cheddar & Caramelised Onion Chutney Ridges: New to the range this year, featuring award-winning cheese from Devon-based Quicke’s and lashings of sweet caramelised onion chutney, delivering a rich, balanced flavour.

The Tesco listing comes at a key time for the brand, following the recent refresh of Burts’ Ridges packaging. The updated pack includes bold, vibrant visuals that reflect the rich, distinctive flavours Burts is known for. Enhanced flavour cues and a more contemporary look help reinforce the premium quality of the crisps while ensuring stronger standout on shelf. This update in packaging is part of Burts’ wider commitment to delivering not only great taste but also a consistent brand experience for consumers.

The news also aligns with continued growth in the hand-cooked crinkle crisp category, seeing growth +14% in value and +15% in volume[4], significantly outdoing other premium snack formats.

Commenting is, Rikin Lakhani, Managing Director, Europe Snacks: “We’re proud to be expanding our footprint with Tesco through this regional listing. It reflects both the strength of our partnership with one of the UK’s leading retailers and the growing demand from consumers for high-quality, flavourful snacks they can enjoy with confidence. Today’s shoppers are looking for snacks that not only deliver on flavour, but also a satisfying texture and high-quality ingredients they can trust. The Ridges range does exactly that and the 150g sharing format makes them ideal for social occasions and relaxed evenings in. This listing is a great step forward in bringing the Burts portfolio to even more households across the UK.”

With premium quality, regional provenance and standout flavour at the heart of every pack, Burts continues to deliver on its promise of exceptional snacking with an even wider reach.
