Car and newsagents damaged in Torquay fire.

The fire service was called to reports of a car on fire on Warbro Road, Torquay this morning just before 8am.

One fire engine from Torquay was mobilised to the incident.

When the crew arrived the vehicle was well alight. 

The engine compartment of the car was severely damaged by fire, the passenger compartment was damaged by heat and smoke and the front of the newsagents it was parked by, is said to have sustained slight smoke damage.

Two breathing apparatus wearers extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet and small tools before the leaving the incident in the hands of the vehicle owner. 

The cause of the fire was accidental.
