Are you a big breed lover searching for a companion dog? The Cinnamon Trust may have just the canine companion you’ve been dreaming of.

The Cornwall-based charity is appealing to dog lovers in Cornwall and the South West who have space in their homes and hearts to welcome larger dog breeds in need of a new forever home.

“As part of our promise to provide lifelong care, many of the pets entrusted to us eventually need a new, loving home,” says Charlotte, Forever Fostering Co ordinator at The Cinnamon Trust.

“Larger breeds can be more challenging to place because they require more room to stretch, bigger gardens to explore, and confident, caring people to give them the attention they deserve.”

Among the gentle giants currently in the Trust’s care are German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, Labradors, and Boxers.
“Every pet we match with a new home has a story,” Charlotte adds. “Our forever fosterers continue giving pets the love their owners used to, and receive unconditional love in return.”

A Happy Tail: Kizzie’s Story
Kizzie’s story is a shining example of the loving new beginnings The Cinnamon Trust makes possible. When Kizzie’s owner became terminally ill, she came into the Trust’s care and, under their guardianship and thoughtful matching process, found her forever home with John and Janet.

“Kizzie came to us shortly after her eighth birthday,” says John. “She’s a darling dog loved not only by us but by everyone who meets her. We’ve had wonderful support from The Trust’s Welfare Team, no question is ever too small or too much trouble. We wouldn’t let her go for the world!”

What Forever Fostering Involves
The charity is looking for confident dog lovers who:

• Have experience with larger breeds and enjoy an active lifestyle
• Have space in their homes and gardens for a big dog to play and relax
• Can handle an enthusiastic pull on the lead with patience and care
Forever fosterers receive full support from The Cinnamon Trust, including:
• Coverage of all veterinary and specialist dietary costs
• Ongoing advice and assistance from the experienced Welfare Team
• Holiday cover to ensure every pet is cared for when fosterers take time away

If you think your home could be the perfect place for a gentle giant, The Cinnamon Trust would love to hear from you.
