This May half term Libraries Unlimited is inviting children and families to discover a packed programme of creative events in libraries across Devon and Torbay.
Supported using public funding by Arts Council England, the programme brings high-quality arts and cultural experiences into local communities at an affordable price, with tickets just £3 for library members.

From hands-on sculpture workshops to interactive theatre experiences, families can enjoy a range of inspiring activities led by talented local artists and creatives.
Events taking place this May half term include:
  • Clay Creatures with Anna Boland at Axminster Library – Tuesday 26th May, Book here
  • Sculpture Making with Peter Margerum at Colyton Library – Tuesday 26th May, Book here
  • Locked in the Library with MED Theatre at Kingskerswell Library –Wednesday 27th May, Book here
  • Locked in the Library with MED Theatre at Bideford Library – Wednesday 27th May, Book here
  • Clay Creatures with Anna Boland at Colyton Library – Friday 29th May, Book here
The events form part of Libraries Unlimited’s seasonal cultural programme, Pride of Place, celebrating creativity, community and culture through events and activities in libraries throughout the year.

Over the past three years, Libraries Unlimited has delivered more than 130 creative events through the programme, reaching over 2,500 participants across Devon and Torbay. More than 83% of participants said the events gave them access to activities they would not normally have the opportunity to experience.

Alex Kittow, Chief Executive Officer, Libraries Unlimited said: “Libraries are at the heart of our communities, and we want them to be places where people can discover, create and connect. Thanks to support from Arts Council England, we’re able to bring amazing cultural experiences into our libraries across Devon and Torbay, making them accessible and affordable for families during the school holidays. We feel very lucky to be working with talented local artists and organisations helping us create opportunities that inspire creativity, support wellbeing and bring communities together”
