The Palace Theatre Paignton is thrilled to welcome one of Britain’s most beloved culinary icons, Prue Leith, for a special evening of stories, insight, and a dash of mischief! Audiences will have the rare opportunity to step into the extraordinary world of the woman who has done it all—chef, restaurateur, novelist, businesswoman, TV judge, education reformer, and campaigner—with wit, warmth, and positive approach to life.
Best known as a judge on The Great British Bake Off, Prue has spent a lifetime shaping the food industry and beyond. From founding Michelin-starred restaurants and pioneering cookery schools to influencing British Rail’s food and revolutionising school meals, her career has been as rich and varied as the dishes she’s created.
As Prue herself puts it: “It’s taken me a long life to know for sure that life is for living, and that hard graft has to be worth it. So, if you are whacked, short of time or just don’t like cooking, cheating is fine. I cheat all the time, and I LOVE cooking.”
But Prue’s talents don’t stop in the kitchen. With eight novels, 14 cookbooks, and a best-selling memoir under her belt, plus a career spanning broadcasting, education, and even contemporary sculpture, she’s a true force of nature. And at over 80 years young, she’s showing no signs of slowing down!
