David Wilson Redrow South West – currently building new homes across Devon – has donated £1,500 to Parkinson’s UK, to help the charity continue to provide practical support to those who are living with the condition and fund essential research.

Parkinson’s UK offers support to the 166,000 people in the UK living with the condition and their loved ones. It’s local support in Exeter includes a weekly dance class at the Riverside Leisure Centre and a support group at Millbrook Community Living.

Kirsty Berrigan and Rebecca Landolt, Heads of Community Fundraising at Parkinson’s UK, said: “We are so grateful to David Wilson Redrow South West for their donation. With more than 40 potential symptoms, Parkinson’s can devastate lives but donations like this mean we can support people living with the condition and fund research. Without such generosity, our work would not be possible.”

Louise Ware, sales director for David Wilson Redrow South West, added: “We wanted to support the incredible work Parkinson’s UK does, not only to advance research but also to improve the daily lives of people living with Parkinson’s in our local communities, including those in Devon.”

David Wilson Redrow South West is building at homes at St Michael’s Meadow in Exeter and Blundell’s Grange in Tiverton.

Parkinson’s is a complex brain condition. In the UK, someone is diagnosed with Parkinson’s every 20 minutes, and by 2050, the number of people living with the condition worldwide is expected to double to 25 million.
