What sentence would you give someone if they caused death by dangerous driving?
Now take into consideration that they had no insurance.
Add to this a previous ban from driving and driving whilst disqualified, without insurance. A previous conviction for a class A drug offence and another for once again driving without insurance.
A custodial sentence, right?
Wrong.
Niall Darvel who admitted causing death by careless driving and driving without insurance, received two six-month terms suspended for two years.
Darvel, was driving the car that killed Greg Taylor, 19 in August 2013.

The fatal accident happened on Kings Ash Road.
Greg, from Buckfastleigh was hit by Darvel’s car whilst he was on his motorcycle.
He was treated by paramedics at the scene, but died later at Torbay Hospital.
Greg’s mum, Bev Taylor has called the sentence ‘A joke’.
We agree.
Doesn’t seem quite right does it?
