Aspiring young artists enjoyed Easter fun when they got to the art of the matter at a High Street store.

The city’s Specsavers store was playing host to a giant Easter Bunny who was handing out chocolates and receiving drawings from youngsters for a Design an Egg competition.

More than 50 designs have already been submitted by talented children, with each of the eye-catching pictures being displayed in the window for others to enjoy.

The competition is for anyone aged 16 and under, with the deadline for submissions on 19 April.

Emma Denham, retail director at Specsavers Exeter, says: ‘Customers have absolutely loved interacting with the Easter Bunny.

‘We’re always keen to engage with people of all ages in our community. We have a lot of fun with it and we’re always grateful for those who get involved.

‘We’ve had a brilliant response to the Easter competition so far. It’s really inspiring the young people’s imaginations, with some superb pictures taking pride of place in our store window – and I’d definitely urge others to bring their creations along.

In addition to the Design an Egg competition, the locally owned and run store also had a Design an Easter Bonnett competition for staff.

The bonny bonnets were displayed at the store in the run-up to Easter, and customers were invited to vote for the winner.

The Specsavers Exeter store is open seven days a week, or customers can call 01392 210604
