Elderly woman dies following collision in Exeter

A pedestrian has died following a collision which took place in Exeter on Friday 11th July 2014 around 4.15pm.

The collision occurred close to Poundland in Sidwell Street, Exeter when an elderly woman was in collision with a pedal cyclist.

The woman suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital for treatment.

Sadly she died in hospital on Saturday morning.

The cyclist, a local man, suffered minor injuries.

Although not formally identified the woman is thought to be aged 87 and from the Crediton area.
Police from the serious collision investigation unit are investigating the incident and have asked any witnesses to come forward. Please call police on 101 quoting reference 631 of 11th July 2014.
