Emergency services join together in dramatic cliff rescue

Lorry collides with 5 vehicles & house at Heathfield

Emergency services were called to Cliff Road, Salcombe in the early hours of this morning after reports of a woman falling over a cliff.

The Fire service joined the Ambulance and Coastguard Services to assist with the rescue.
Specialist Rescue Teams from Plymouth Camelshead along with an appliance from Greenbank joined appliances from Salcombe and Kingsbridge at the scene.
The Ambulance Service Hazardous Area Response Team were in attendance.

The Coastguard had secured the casualty and DSFRS Specialist Rescue crews were setting up equipment to carry out rescue alongside.

The female casualty was rescued and was airlifted to hospital by Search and Rescue helicopter.
