‘Escaped crocodile’ is inflatable toy

Devon and Cornwall Police received a call this afternoon regarding an escaped animal in Plymouth, the caller believed it to be a Crocodile around 3ft in length.

The woman, from Cundy Close was concerned for her child.

Police contacted Dartmoor Zoo and the RSPCA who were on their way to the scene.

The caller decided to approach the animal to investigate further and discover that it was an inflatable toy crocodile.

Experts from Dartmoor Zoo were then stood down.
