The fire service received a number of reports regarding a shelter on fire at the Skate Park on Monksbridge Road, Brixham in the early hours of this morning.
Passers by and local residents in the area reported the shed was well alight.
A Fire appliance and crew was mobilised from Brixham Fire station.
The wooden shelter was severely damaged by fire. It was a memorial to Julius Dodd, 24 who died in a motorcycle accident in 2007.
It is estimated that it will cost around £15K to replace.
Devon and Cornwall Police have been informed of this incident.
