Emergency services are currently on scene at The Boat House cafe, Torcross, Kingsbridge after reports of a fire in the roof of the cafe.
Appliances from Kingsbridge, Dartmouth and Salcombe were initially mobilised, followed by further appliances from Paignton, Totnes and Brixham.
Police were requested for traffic control purposes.
A379 at Torcross is currently closed
Update:
The first floor and roof and the roof of the builder were severely damaged by fire and the ground floor suffered from smoke and water damage.
The fire had also spread to an adjoining building. The roof of this property was severely damaged by fire.
