A leading property consultancy has announced two promotions in the infrastructure division of its Exeter office.
Fisher German LLP has promoted Richard Smale to Associate Partner, whilst Harry Whittle has also been promoted to Senior Associate.
Since arriving at the business in early 2024, Richard has played an integral role overseeing the ISD team, working across the South West and South of England.
Within his position he has worked with the firm’s clients in the water, electricity, and gas sectors, providing strategic oversight and advice on nationally significant infrastructure projects.
These efforts have extended from facilitating access agreements for site surveys, through to the acquisition of land on a temporary or permanent basis for the purposes of new or existing infrastructure delivery.
Reflecting on his promotion, Richard said: “I am delighted to be promoted to Associate Partner at Fisher German. Since joining the firm in 2014, it has been a pleasure to see growth in the Exeter team and an increase in the variety of our instructions.
“I am looking to forward to continuing to progress from here, adding value to the business by building on our existing client relationships and forging new ones with organisations that are bringing forward exciting and ambitious infrastructure projects.”
Richard and Harry’s promotions are among dozens that have been announced across the business, with Fisher German staying committed to its partnership structure as it experiences significant growth.
In total, Fisher German LLP has promoted 77 colleagues across all areas of the company after a busy start to 2026.
The year has already seen the firm win a major contract to deliver a range of consultancy services for Great British Energy – Nuclear as it builds the UK’s first small modular nuclear reactor at Wylfa in north Wales. Fisher German has also continued high-quality instructions in its agency, advisory, infrastructure and property management divisions.
For Richard, Fisher German’s long-standing commitment to career development within the company is a big reason behind this success.
He added: “Fisher German recognises the value of people, and the line management support is exemplary. The business benefits from having a breadth and depth to highly skilled staff which are overseen at the highest levels with a personable approach.”
Richard Benson, Senior Partner at Fisher German, added: “These promotions give us the opportunity to highlight the achievements of Fisher German’s hard-working colleagues who have delivered for clients, their teams and colleagues.
“The 77 promotions are a testament to the dedication and high standard of delivery across all our divisions.
“I would like to congratulate every colleague who has been promoted which helps to ensure we continue to build a strong future for Fisher German.”
