Navigators is a new type of youth group that following its launch in the USA in 2003 started has now reached our shores, starting in Kingskerswell and open to all children.  The Navigator slogan is “The more you give, the more you get”; So to celebrate their first year and to publicise the group they decided to give the children in the community a great day out without having to run to the bank of mum and dad every five minutes for another go on the bouncy castle. Hoping that it wil encourage others to either join one of our groups or even go off and set a Navigator group up in there area.

This year they have not only filled the area with endless bouncy castles, bungee runs and inflatable boxing rings but have also added. Laser guns from Dame Hannahs. Zorbing style football and a pop up dance tent from Dance Devon plus a fantastic rodeo bull. They have added to this with entertainment provided by Devon Dynamites one of Devon’s finest Majorette groups, Magicians sponsored by Vospers in Torquay, Pirate games with Meg the red for younger children and even Musketeers. All Totally free.

The great thing is by working in the community we have been able to invite along other youth groups and charities to the day for example Newton Abbot Army Cadets will be there demonstrating some of the things they get up to and allowing people to try out some of their equipment and camouflage face paints to a young person running a loom band stall to raise money for the grandmother and Devon Dynamites inviting you to get in their Stocks.

There will also be various stalls from Pizza to Jewellery and everything in between so pop over to Kingskerswell whilst you have the chance and help fill the village with children just having a great time.

The event starts at 12pm on the 30th August at the Parish Meadows Kingskerswell and if you would like to know more about UK navigators you can visit our website at www.uknavigators.org, find us on facebook or email info@uknavigators.org.

For more info about the fun day or if you would like to help out, search “Whats on Kingskerswell” on facebook or email the above.
