Fundraiser Stephen Sutton has passed away

Stephen Sutton, who raised more than £3m via social media for the teenage cancer trust has died today aged 19.

His mum announced the sad news on his facebook page.

Stephen from Birmingham was diagnosed with bowel cancer at 15 and created a ‘bucket list’.
Stephen said the number one aim on his list was raising £10,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
This target was smashed and Stephen went for a new target of £1 Million.
This target was met and once again, smashed after Stephen posted his ‘Final thumbs up’ on facebook (See more below)

Stephen kept fighting and was even discharged from hospital, Stephen posted that he was back in hospital on his page 11 May. Last night, Stephen’s family posted:

‘Hi everyone, this is Stephen’s family. Unfortunately in the last 24 hours Stephen’s condition has deteriorated to where he can no longer communicate through this page himself. Unfortunately the breathlessness which had him re-admitted to hospital is due to the regrowth of tumours which are blocking his airways, and not just due to infection as we had all been hoping. He is currently comfortable an…d stable, and we will let you know of any further developments. Right now however, as a family, we wish for a certain amount of privacy for us to spend what time he has remaining with him. We appreciate everyone’s concern, and for all the love and goodwill sent his way, and indeed ours too, we thank you deeply x’
