How to get on the first rung of the property ladder at Dawlish View

How to get on the first rung of the property ladder at Dawlish View

With new homes in Dawlish around 20% less expensive than those in Exeter, and Dawlish also being one location where it costs less to buy than to rent, Bloor Homes is holding an information weekend (21/22 Feb) at its Dawlish View development for first time buyers so they can make fully informed decisions about buying their first home in the town.

Sara Parker, Sales Director for Bloor Homes’ Exeter region, said: “For the keen eyed, Dawlish is a really great place to buy right now, even if you work in Exeter.  The cost of purchasing here, vs renting locally or buying in Exeter is very different, yet you can be in Exeter town centre in just 30 mins by car or in as little as 13 minutes on the fastest train to the city centre.

“We understand it can be hard to save for the 5% deposit required by mortgage lenders and that it can take time, especially whilst renting. That’s why we’re currently offering to pay the 5% deposit on selected plots at Dawlish View alongside all the support available to purchasers on their homebuying journey. People interested can find out more at the event.”

Brand new two bedroom homes at Dawlish View start at £250,000 and there are a selected number of plots which will be ready to move into as soon as this Spring.

The event for first time buyers provides free access to experts who are there to help answer all the questions – whether sitting down with an independent financial adviser (IFA) to find out how mortgages work, or what they can afford, to having a chat with Bloor Homes’ friendly sales team about the process of buying new and how they go about it.

Sara adds: “Knowledge is power and this event is for anyone thinking of buying their first home who wants to do their homework and understand all the options available to them, in one location and on one day.”

Advisers from IFA The Mortgage Brain will be on hand between 10am and 5pm on Saturday 21stFeb for anyone wishing to explore any financial steps they may need to take to get started, including the ‘green mortgages’ only available on brand new, energy efficient homes.

For more information about Dawlish View and the new homes ideal for first time buyers, visit the development located off Larch Road in Dawlish between 10am and 5pm on Saturday 21st or Sunday 22nd February. Alternatively, take a look online at bloorhomes.com
