Lazy Susan Furniture boosts Devon communities with 40 friendship benches

Lazy Susan Furniture, a leading online retailer of cast-aluminium garden furniture, is delighted to announce the donation of 40 free Friendship Benches to qualifying not-for-profit organisations across Devon. This significant initiative aims to bring people together, encourage conversation and create welcoming spaces for connection within local communities.

The 40 Friendship Benches are available to a wide range of eligible organisations, including schools, hospitals, hospices, and any registered charities operating within Devon. These benches are designed to reduce loneliness and provide a dedicated spot for people of all ages to sit, chat, and build relationships.

This latest philanthropic effort continues Lazy Susan Furniture’s long-standing commitment to giving back. Over the past decade, the company’s ‘Do Some Good‘ campaign has successfully donated more than £588,000 to various charitable causes, demonstrating a deep-rooted dedication to social responsibility.

Michael Scott has pledged to donate 400 metal garden benches nationwide in 2026, significantly expanding the company’s philanthropic reach and impact across the UK.

Michael Scott, founder of Lazy Susan Furniture, commented on the donation:

“I firmly believe in the power of community, the joy of being outside and the simple act of human connection. These Friendship Benches are more than just outdoor seating; they are places for people to pause, relax and perhaps strike up a conversation with someone they have never spoken to before. We are incredibly proud to support Devon organisations in creating these vital spaces where friendships can flourish and communities can strengthen.”

Qualifying not-for-profit organisations in Devon are encouraged to apply for a Free Friendship Garden Bench here.
