Roy Martin, owner of the highly popular, bulb and battery specialist store, Light Options in Union Street, Torquay, is to end his 20+ years in charge of the business.

photo 2Roy, who has owned the business for over 20 years is finally selling the 35 year old Bulb and Battery specialist store to 2 of his nephew’s.

Roy explained:

“Light Options is not moving but simply changing hands, the shop is still healthy and it would be a shame to close it down. I have sold the shop to 2 of my nephews so it will stay in the family, but for the meantime nothing is changing at Light Options apart from new managers and staff”

Mark and Martin (the new owners) will be changing the business name to Light Options Retail with Light Options electrical contractors branching off to become it’s own business, Roy stressed that the shop will still act as a headquarters for the electrical contracting and bills can still be paid there.

After Light Options bought Torbay Electric Light Company, formerly situated in Paignton last summer, the shop has seen a high increase of new customers for both the shop and contracting side of the business.

Light Options will stay the same now unless the new owners decide to make any changes, we love the change over and would like to know what your views are?
