Local attraction launches new “Loyal Locals Scheme” to thank community for 40 years of support

For four decades, Shaldon Wildlife Trust has been proud to be a place that means something special to the people of their village and the surrounding area. Over the years, countless residents have passed through their doors, some as excited children, others bringing families of their own, enjoying first dates, or joining them for one of the many community events that have become part of their shared history. The continued success is thanks in no small part to the loyal support they’ve received from local people, and now they want to give something meaningful back.

Recognising that winter can be a financially challenging time for many households, with Christmas expenses approaching and everyday costs continuing to rise, they are delighted to announce the launch of the Loyal Locals Scheme, running from 1st December 2025 to 28th February 2026. This new initiative has been created specifically to help residents enjoy affordable days out during the colder months while celebrating the long-standing relationship they share with the community.

The scheme offers progressively reduced entry prices for those living in the local area. Each time a resident visits within the three-month period, their admission becomes even cheaper, eventually dropping to just £4 per visit. Whether you come once, twice, or several times, they want to help locals enjoy a day out with them.

Joining the scheme is simple. Visitors need only bring a valid proof of address, such as a recent utility bill or a driving licence, and present it upon arrival. The team will register each visit and apply the appropriate discount automatically.

They hope the Loyal Locals Scheme brings a little extra winter cheer and offers residents a chance to enjoy Shaldon Wildlife Trust. They look forward to welcoming familiar faces—and meeting new ones—as they celebrate 40 years of community connection.
