Local employers invited to take part in Torbay Jobs Fair

The Torbay Jobs Fair returns this Autumn and local employers with vacancies to fill are invited to book a free stand to advertise and fill their vacant positions. As in previous years, the event will feature many local companies from a broad spectrum of sectors, allowing attendees to explore diverse career prospects in Torbay, aiming to bridge the gap between local employers and jobseekers.

The popular event will take place from 9.00am to 12:00pm on Friday 4 October at Torquay Town Hall with organisers expecting hundreds of jobseekers to attend. There will also be a Disability Confident session from 9:00 to 9.30am when attendees who require additional support will be able to experience the event during a quieter time.

Employers will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with people from all ages and backgrounds who are looking for work.

The event is free for both employers and jobseekers and is delivered by Torbay Council’s Economic Development Team in partnership with Jobcentre Plus.

Councillor Chris Lewis, Cabinet Member for Place Development and Economic Growth for Torbay Council, said: ‘‘Attending the Torbay Jobs Fair provides an excellent platform for businesses to increase their visibility in the local job market. Torbay Council is proud to organise the Jobs Fair which is a fantastic, annual event that connects residents with local businesses. The event provides employers with the perfect opportunity to meet candidates in person and to fill their vacancies. Local residents who are looking for work or who are interested in finding out more about local employment options are encouraged to attend and meet with local employers from all sectors. With hundreds of attendees expected to attend, it’s the perfect place for local businesses to recruit new talent.’’

Employers from all sectors and industries who have current job or apprenticeship vacancies are welcome to apply for a free stand.

Space at the event is limited so businesses are advised to reserve their stand as soon as possible via Ticket Tailor or by contacting: Elizabeth Devonport, Torbay Council Economic Development Officer: Elizabeth.devonport@torbay.gov.uk
