Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal incident which took place on the northbound carriageway of the M5, between Junction 26 (Wellington) and Junction 25 (Taunton) on Wednesday 5th November.

At approximately 2.30am, a lorry travelling north on the M5, struck the central reservation just after the Taunton Deane Service Station.

On leaving his cab, the driver, a male in his late 50’s,  was struck by a second lorry travelling in the same direction.

An ambulance attended but the male was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the second lorry has been spoken to by Police, who are keen to speak to anyone else who may have witnessed the incident.

Anyone who may be able to help is asked to contact PC Julian Chambers of the Collisions Investigation Unit by ringing the Police on 101.
