Emergency services were called to reports of an accident on Kings Ash Road in the early hours of this morning (6 September)

Two fire engines from Paignton were mobilised to the incident due to reports of one person trapped in a vehicle.

The car had been in collision with an electricty pole.

A Western Power representative attended to confirm that the power was off.

Fire crews used hydraulic cutting equipment and small tools to release the male casualty from the car.

The man was taken to hospital via ambulance.
