The 27 year old man was taken to Derriford following an incident in the city.

Four people have been arrested on suspicion of assault following the incident and remain in custody at this time.

The mans identity has not been released as yet, prior to a formal identification, although his next of kin have been informed.

DCI Steve Parker, who is leading the investigation said,

‘This is a tragic incident and our thoughts go out to the family at what is a terrible time for them.  It appears that the male sustained his injuries after falling from a raised area grassy area onto the pavement of Okehampton Road, Exeter. At this time we are working to establish the exact chain of events.  The incident appears to have happened between 2000hrs and 2100hrs on Saturday 10 May 2014.  I would ask anyone who saw, or has any information about the incident to call 101 and quote log 986 100414 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111’

2 men have now been charged with manslaughter
