Multi-agency search for missing woman in Torbay

A massive multi-agency search for a missing person was launched late last night in Torbay.

The land, sea and air search involved police, rnli and coastguard crews around the Paignton and Torbay area.

The missing woman was found by a member of the public near Preston.

Torbay Coastguard, who had been out dealing with a seperate incident involving two people in the water at Torquay Harbour said on Facebook: “Whilst we were dealing with the previous incident we were re tasked by Solent Coastguard – Operations Centre to assist Devon & Cornwall Police with a search for a missing person in Paignton. We re directed Berry Head Coastguard to deploy a search team whilst we finished off in Torquay. We sent out several search teams to cover from gas works beach to Goodrington beach whilst RNLITorbay and RNLI Teignmouth carried out a shoreline search. The misper was located by one of our search teams with the help of a member of the public,”
