Eat That Frog Group is proud to share the outcome of a recent Ofsted inspection of The Learning Curve (Part of Eat That Frog Group), which was one of the first education provisions to be graded under Ofsted’s new inspection framework.
Eat That Frog Group is a values-led organisation delivering education, training and employability support across the UK and internationally. The Group brings together three complementary provisions:
• Eat That Frog CIC, a Specialist Post-16 Institution and adult training provider supporting young people and adults with complex barriers to learning and work in Torbay, Newton Abbot, Exeter and Plymouth
• Eat That Frog Spain, delivering international education and mobility programmes focused on independence, employability and life skills
• The Learning Curve, provides funding for targeted programmes namely the King’s Trust and Leap for young people in Torbay, Teignbridge and Plymouth aged 16–18 who are not currently in education, employment or training. These programmes are delivered by their delivery partner, Eat That Frog C.I.C.
The inspection, which took place in November 2025, assessed performance using Ofsted’s updated standards, including a revised focus on inclusion, leadership, learner experience and safeguarding. Under this new framework, The Learning Curve was confirmed as meeting the expected standard overall, with Inclusion graded as a strong standard and safeguarding standards met.
Across the cohort of independent learning providers inspected in this initial phase (15), The Learning Curve was the only provider to be judged ‘Strong’ for Inclusion. All other providers were graded either ‘Expected’ or ‘Needs attention’ in this area.
Inspectors praised the organisation’s inclusive, person-centred approach, noting that “leaders create a highly inclusive culture” and “Tutors are highly experienced in supporting young people facing significant life challenges.” Including those who are disadvantaged, have special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) or have experience of being in care. The report also recognised the positive impact of rich learning experiences, including community engagement, work experience and volunteering, in building learners’ confidence, resilience and employability skills.
Ian Powell, Managing Director of the Eat That Frog Group, said: “This outcome is a direct reflection of the passion, care and hard work shown by our staff across the organisation not just during inspection week but every single day. We are immensely proud of everyone and those who supported the inspection, shared their practice so openly and continue to live and breathe our values in their work.”
Ofsted confirmed that The Learning Curve operates as part of the wider Eat That Frog Group, with strong oversight from trustees and leaders who share a clear, person-centred vision focused on improving life chances for young people.
The report states, “Leaders are rightly proud of the difference they make to learners’ lives and celebrate this in events where learners showcase their projects and reflect on their learning.”

Eat That Frog Group and The Learning Curve thanks its staff, learners, partners and stakeholders for their ongoing support and collaboration. Eat That Frog Group continues to work closely with local authorities, employers, funders and community partners to deliver meaningful education and training pathways that support progression, independence and long-term positive outcomes.
