Following the success of Blood Money, Bijou Theatre Productions are thrilled to bring you Don’t Dress for Dinner, a side-splitting comedy that guarantees to leave audiences in stitches. Running from November 26th to 29th at 7:30pm, this fast-paced play, written by Marc Camoletti and adapted by Robin Hawdon, is just what you need to chase away those winter blues.

Set in the idyllic French countryside, Bernard has meticulously planned a weekend with his mistress, Suzy. With a Cordon Bleu chef, his wife conveniently off to her mother’s, and his best friend Robert roped in as a foolproof alibi, what could possibly go wrong? As this is a farce, the answer is …everything! Misunderstandings pile up as Bernard and Robert scramble to keep up the charade, leading to an evening of confusion, chaos, and non-stop laughter.

Directed by the talented Julie Sharp, this production features a fantastic cast, blending new faces and familiar talent, including David Grant, Danielle Hopkins, Sarah Louise Caplan, and Adam Franks. Farce lovers will be pleased to know that Dave Grant and Adam Clark were both in Cash on Delivery, and Dave Grant also starred in Taking Steps, two well-received farces at The Little Theatre in Torquay earlier this year – so fans of those shows are in for a treat!

Julie Sharp, the director, shares her excitement about the production:

“It’s great fun directing this show for Bijou. If our audience has half as much fun as the cast and I have had during rehearsals for Don’t Dress for Dinner, then we’re onto a winner!”

This amateur production of Don’t Dress for Dinner is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd. on behalf of Samuel French Ltd.

Performance Dates:

November 26th to 29th, 2024, at 7:30 PM

Location:

Palace Theatre Paignton
