Police appeal after fatal crash in South Devon

Police are appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision in which a man died at the weekend.

At around 7.30pm on Sunday 12 October, a white VW Polo collided with a garden wall on the A379 at Frogmore, Kingsbridge.

Police attended the scene, and during this contact the driver collapsed and officers and paramedics carried out CPR.

A 59 year-old man from Kingsbridge was pronounced dead at the scene, his next of kin has been informed.

As is usual in cases like this where a death occurs after police contact, this incident has been referred to the IPCC.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw the white VW Polo shortly before, and is asked to call the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit on 101 and quote log number 702 for the 12th October.
