Police appeal after man found seriously injured in Newton Abbot

Police are appealing for information after a man was found with serious injuries in Newton Abbot during the early hours of Friday morning.

Emergency services were called to Halcyon Road at around 2am on Friday 9 May following reports that a man had been discovered in the road with multiple serious injuries.

The man, who is in his 20s, was taken to hospital where he remains receiving treatment.

An investigation is now underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and how the injuries were sustained.

Officers are urging anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area, or who may have relevant information, to come forward.

Halcyon Road remains closed while enquiries continue.

Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone with dash-cam, doorbell or CCTV footage that could assist the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log 73 of 9 May 2026.
