Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault on a woman in Newton Abbot.
The incident happened between 9pm and 9.30pm on Tuesday 11 August near McDonald’s and Sainsbury’s at Penn Inn.
Police say the victim was approached by another woman who was in a car.
The woman got out of the vehicle and made accusations towards the victim, who then walked away.
The suspect is reported to have approached the victim from behind before pulling her hair and punching and kicking her.
The victim sustained a number of minor injuries during the assault.
Officers investigating the incident are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed what happened.
They are particularly keen to trace a man who intervened and stopped the assault.
The witness is described as a white man in his mid-30s who was carrying a child on his shoulders.
