Police appeal following assault in Torquay

Police in Torbay are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Old Mill Road, Torquay, in which a man suffered serious injuries.

Three men, wearing balaclavas, allegedly attacked the victim with a baseball bat between 10.45pm and 11pm on Monday 24 March.

The victim, a 42-year-old local Turkish man, suffered a head injury as a result of the attack.

Emergency services responded promptly to the incident and one man, who is known to the victim, has been arrested on suspicion of assault. The 49-year-old from Torquay has been released on police bail until 6 May.

The other two men police would like to speak to in connection with the assault are described as aged between 30 and 40, 6ft in height, and were speaking Kurdish. They were wearing dark clothing.
