Sadly, the motorcyclist – a man in his 20s from Cullompton, sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

Officers from the Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing Team and local response units attended the scene, and the road was closed for several hours while investigations were carried out. Police have since reopened the road and thanked the public for their patience during the disruption.

A woman in her 30s from Exeter has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. She has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Police are now urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have dash-cam footage of the area at the time, to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, or via the Devon and Cornwall Police website, quoting reference 50250262018.
