Police are appealing for witnesses following the death of a 38 year old man at Slapton Ley Nature Reserve on 22 August.

A silver coloured BMW 318 car entered the water just after midnight. The man was the only occupant of the vehicle.

Police Forensic collision investigators attended the scene along with Scenes of Crime Officers.

The vehicle was recovered around 1.20pm and the road fully re-opened.

An enquiry is ongoing to establish the cause of the collision.

A family liaison Officer has been appointed but formal identification has not yet taken place.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward or anyone with information.

You can contact police on 101, quoting log number 10 of 22/08/14.
