A woman in her 60s has died following a collision involving a motorcycle in Shaldon, prompting an appeal for witnesses and dash-cam footage.
Emergency services were called to the A379 Torquay Road at around 1.30pm on Friday, 3 July, following reports of a collision involving a silver motorcycle and a pedestrian.
Despite the efforts of paramedics and other emergency responders, the woman, who was from Taunton, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Devon & Cornwall Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
Officers from the Roads Policing Unit thanked motorists and local residents for their patience while the A379 remained closed to allow specialist collision investigators to examine the scene.
Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have captured it on dash-cam, to come forward.
A spokesperson for Devon & Cornwall Police said: “At around 1.30pm on Friday, 3 July, emergency services were called to the A379 Torquay Road, Shaldon, following a report of a road traffic collision involving a silver motorcycle and a pedestrian.
“Despite the efforts of emergency services, the pedestrian, a woman in her 60s from Taunton, died at the scene.”
