Devon & Cornwall Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Dawlish which left a man with a broken leg.
The incident happened at around 8.40pm on Thursday 25 June on The Strand, when a group of youths reportedly surrounded an adult male following a verbal exchange.
Police say the victim was then struck and knocked to the ground, before being repeatedly kicked while he was on the floor. He sustained a broken leg as a result of the attack.
A 15-year-old boy from Teignmouth has been arrested on suspicion of wounding in connection with the incident. He has since been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
Officers are now urging anyone who witnessed the assault — particularly those who left the area before police arrived — to come forward, as it is believed several potential eyewitnesses have not yet spoken to investigators.
They are also keen to hear from anyone who may have captured relevant CCTV, mobile phone, or dashcam footage from the area at the time.
The Strand is a well-used area in the centre of Dawlish, and police believe members of the public may have seen what happened.
