Police are appealing for witnesses after a report of an alleged serious assault in Exeter on Wednesday evening.
Officers were called to Church Street at around 5.35pm on Wednesday 5 August following reports of a male carrying a knife while running through the area and claiming to have seriously assaulted someone.
Devon & Cornwall Police said enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances of the incident, and at this stage no victim has been identified.
A 17-year-old male from Topsham has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent, possessing a bladed article in a public place, and theft.
He remains under investigation while officers continue their enquiries.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has mobile phone or dashcam footage that could assist the investigation, to come forward.
