Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to after an elderly man was left with serious injuries when a dog jumped up at him in Plymouth.
Devon & Cornwall Police are appealing for the public’s help to identify the man pictured as part of their ongoing investigation into the incident, which happened at around 9.15am on Saturday 1 August near The Sundial on Armada Way.
The victim, a 79-year-old man, was reportedly walking in the area when he was jumped at by a large black dog that was not on a lead. The impact caused him to fall, resulting in a serious head injury.
The man remains in hospital receiving treatment.
Investigating officers have now obtained a CCTV image of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
Police are asking the man pictured to come forward and are also appealing to anyone who recognises him to get in touch.
Officers are also keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, helped the injured man at the scene, or has relevant CCTV, mobile phone or dashcam footage that has not yet been shared with police.
