Police in Devon have renewed an appeal to identify a body found in 1999.

On 28th March 1999 a badly decomposed body was found in a fissure on the cliffs at Steeple Cove (near Bolberry).

The body was thought to be of a male, aged 18 – 25, 180 cm tall and of thin build. He was wearing an olive green hooded jacket, green Nike hooded windcheater, royal blue shirt, blue jeans, brown US Brass boots with spanner and nut pattern on the side.

The young man had £180 cash on him and an empty packet of sleeping pills. There was also a suicide note.

To this date he has not been identified. He does not match any Missing Person reports, his DNA and fingerprints are not on file, and all enquiries have failed. We would like to renew our appeal to identify this male.

The police can be contacted on their non emergency number 101.
