The offender got into the first floor flat in Haytor Close, West Park, through a kitchen or lounge window on Tuesday 12 August.

The burglary was also carried out in broad daylight, sometime between 6am and 9pm, and the window is in open view of neighbouring flats.

An Xbox One and accessories, valued at £800, were stolen from the property.

Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have seen suspicious individuals and activity in the area at the time of the offence to contact them.

The public are also reminded to keep windows and doors locked, particularly at night or when homes are left unoccupied for any period of time.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Devon and Cornwall Police on 101, quoting crime reference CR/097912/14.
