Police seek witnesses to Torquay fire

Lorry driver killed in M5 crash this morning

A 43-year-old man has been arrested following a fire in Torquay last night (22 October).

Fire crews and police were called to the blaze in a property in Bronshill Road, around 7.30pm.

All occupants were evacuated and nearby residents were safely evacuated.

Detectives are treating the fire, which caused £2,000 damage to the property, as suspicious.

A 43-year-old man from Torquay has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life. He remains in custody at Torquay police station.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to contact them.
