Devon County Council is inviting residents to a public information event next week to find out more about the upcoming A382 improvement scheme.

The drop-in session will take place at Newton Abbot Town Council offices, Newton’s Place, from 2pm to 7pm on Tuesday 9 September. Members of the project team will be on hand to answer questions and discuss the plans in detail.

For those unable to attend, the plans will remain on display at Newton Abbot Library for the rest of the month.

The scheme, scheduled to begin later this month, will see major upgrades to the A382 between Forches Cross and Stover (Ice House Copse). Improvements include re-aligning the road, developing the Jetty Marsh Link, and constructing the Whitehills roundabout. The project aims to reduce congestion, improve safety, and encourage more walking and cycling.

Devon County Council, working alongside contractor M Group, has also been consulting with businesses along the route to discuss traffic management during the works. Feedback from these discussions has helped shape the final traffic management plans.

In addition, local residents and businesses will soon receive information leaflets outlining the scheme, road closures, and other key details. Full project information is also available on the A382 webpages of Devon County Council.
